Practice Update – 09/07/2021

Posted on 9 July 2021 by Lorraine Barrett

Hello to all, it’s been a while!

What a year we have had… from a full lockdown back in March 2020, to the reopening of our dental practice back in June 2020 and the continuing easing of restrictions ever since.

We want to thank you all, especially the patients, for your continued support – having such wonderful patients has made the process much easier for us!

All our current policies and procedures are in place to give you peace of mind when you visit and to keep you, and our members of staff, safe. If you are able, please use our new online portal system to complete forms when you receive your appointment reminder via SMS or email as if completed we can now eliminate paperwork at the door.

To access the portal we now have Wifi active at the practice from 8.30am to 6.30pm Mon-Friday

Another one of the recent investments at the practice is a brand new air ventilation system. In the surgeries we now have 42 air changes an hour reducing the spread of aerosols. The government recommends 12 changes an hour so we have really gone above and beyond with this. Staff are tested bi-weekly and regular deep cleaning is always in operation.

Our associate dentist Jaymin Patel will be reducing his hours at the practice to complete an MSc in Implantology at Bristol University while working at another practice 2 days a week to gain experience in this field. As a valued associate we wish him all the best with his new venture and he will continue to work with us at Cornhill Dental Practice for 2 days a week on a Tuesday and Thursday.

As Jaymin will be reducing his hours, Cornhill Dental Practice are delighted to welcome our new associate dentist; Dr Kate Holt BDS.

Kate qualified back in 2003 from GKT Dental School in London. Kate has spent her qualified years working in general practice and the community dental sector, working in prison dentistry, pediatrics and special care dentistry. With a special interest in helping nervous patients, she has undertaken courses to assist patients that are experiencing pain and dental anxiety.

Kate is highly experienced at dental intravenous sedation, which she is keen to begin providing at the practice. Kate also enjoys cosmetic dentistry and smile design.
Cornhill Dental Practice are delighted that Kate will be joining our team in September, and we all look forward to welcoming her.

As Kate will be working here for 3 days a week we will continue to care for our current patients but are also hoping to provide dental care to new patients in the near future.

Our principal dentist Jeremy Lyle will continue to work alongside Jaymin and Kate full time.

We continue to offer an exceptionally high standard of dental care in a safe and secure environment and strive to make your experience positive and calming while helping to achieve optimal dental health.
